The Finer Cookie: Florentines

By Kimberlie Robert

When a Florentine is in the room, the bell goes off. Your focus glazes over into a Zombie-like emptiness where nothing takes priority over tearing apart that cookie. Your head and your heart dissolve into a milkshake of sorts, and all the agreements you made with yourself are long gone. These are high expectations, I know. Do they deliver? Well, once the soft tooth of the nuts are blended with the slightly crisp caramel, and the cookie collapses under the pressure, and the chocolate goes liquid in your heat, the promise is delivered and the abandon was worth it. You have just gone NUTS. Have you got the picture?
