Splash pad or money pit

The recently built Stayner Park splash pad has a total price tag of $434,253.08… construction and study included. The concrete splash pad area is 1184.03 square. ft. (110 square meters) putting construction cost per square foot at $366.68. A quick Google search puts the price of a concrete pool around $100. per square foot in Canada. However, this may be an unfair comparison… since a pool requires more concrete for the sides. The cost of concrete has not escalated like lumber… maybe splash pad concrete is just really expensive.
