Imagine a dance performance comprised of circus actions, one that explores esoteric issues such as alienation and indifference in domestic life. Sound unlikely? Sandy and Noah (a real-life couple?) have lost the ability to communicate with each other. ‘Enmeshed by self-delusion’ Sandy looks down from her high horse on stilts while Noah literally bends over backwards to bring home groceries.
Through the creation of a minimalist, surreal set, the use of both circus acts and the motifs of a traditional western story, Sandy Tugwood and Noah Nielsen have created a fascinating performance…
How to resolve these sticky issues? Not through short-term solutions. Sandy and Noah have given the problem careful consideration and arrived at well-conceived answers.

Sandy and Noah was presented at Theatre la Chapelle on April 19, 22 and 23.
