The Finer Cookie: Sombrero Cookies
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with these festive sugar cookies!
By Kimberlie Robert
I adore Mexico and Mexican — tequila, mescal, guacamole, cactus, adobe sauce, mole, chipotle, mariachi, gauchos and Mexican pottery. So it’s easy for me to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and what better way than to bring you Sombrero Cookies. They’re such fun to make and eat, especially for kids. Show them the picture and they’ll be all in for the afternoon project.
Do the Mexican Hat Dance because these Sombrero Cookies are simple to make and to decorate — just a basic sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles. Check out the photo tutorial and you’ll see what I mean. Easy peasy.
