Snow White reimagined
at the Centaur Theatre

The production invites us to look in the mirror and ask: What if we rewrote the rules?

April 8, 2026

This April, Montreal audiences are invited to rediscover a familiar fairy tale through a fresh theatrical lens. From April 16 to 26, Geordie Theatre presents Snow White at Centaur Theatre in Old Montreal—a lively, inventive adaptation that brings new energy and humour to the classic story.

Get ready to see Snow White like never before

Written by Greg Banks and directed by Jimmy Blais, this reimagining moves beyond the traditional tale. Snow White is no passive heroine here, but a clever and determined young woman shaping her own path. Get ready to see Snow White like never before. This fast-paced, physically inventive adaptation tosses the glass coffin and the damsel-in-distress tropes out the window.

The production embraces theatrical ingenuity, with just two actors performing every role, from the Queen and Huntsman to the Prince and all seven dwarves, using quick transformations, physical storytelling, and imaginative staging to create a fast-paced, engaging experience. The result is a production that feels both intimate and expansive, capturing the spirit of storytelling in its most playful form.

A Welcoming Introduction to Live Theatre

Set in the historic surroundings of Centaur Theatre, Snow White offers an appealing cultural outing for families and theatre-goers alike during the spring season. With its limited run, the production is expected to attract strong interest; tickets are already selling fast!

Performed in English with French surtitles throughout, the production ensures accessibility for a wide range of audiences, including for the Deaf community, with an LSQ-interpreted performance taking place on April 18 at 1 pm.
