GUYS AND DOLLS
The Lakeshore Players at John Rennie High School (Ponte Claire) began the run of this great 1950 stage musical on May 9, last seen in Montreal at the Segal Centre in 2012. Based on Damon Runyon‘s short stories with memorable characters like Nathan Detroit, Sky Masterson, Niceley Niceley Johnson and Big Jule seeking a place to gamble dice illegally while the Salvation Army plays on.

The Côte St-Luc Dramatic Society presents the 1987 Sondheim musical based on the classic fairy tales we know.

Hudson Village Theatre presents Norman Foster’s latest comedy.

NDG PORCH FEST
Features some 60 performers outdoors in front of various houses. I spot two singers often featured in our pages – Sarah Segal-Lazar on May 18 and Mary Ann Lacey on May 19.

The West Island Theatre Association presents the 1971 Chicago groundbreaking rock musical.

FESTIVAL TRANS AMÉRIQUES
The 18th annual FTA brings 20 dance and theatre shows from Canada, America, and Europe to various venues around town.

LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR AND GRILL
At the Upstairs Bar and Grill. Featuring the wonderful Ranee Lee as Billy Holiday in this fine jukebox musical.
