April 19, 2023
Jennifer Maccarone, Member of Québec’s National Assembly for Westmount–Saint-Louis, is happy to announce that she has given over $40,000 to various community organizations in her riding for the year 2022-2023 in support of their valuable work.
The Westmount–Saint-Louis riding is vast and home to a diverse population with equally diverse realities. The MNA for Westmount–Saint-Louis made sure to pay close attention to these different needs when allocating funds from the Soutien à l’action bénévole program.
Community organizations in Westmount–Saint-Louis do exceptional work and provide essential assistance to community members.
Accordingly, the MNA supported several organizations working with some of the most vulnerable citizens. These include the Maison Lucien-L’Allier, the Maison Nazareth, and the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal, which help people experiencing homelessness.
Moreover, in an effort to combat the social exclusion of seniors, the MNA for Westmount–Saint-Louis granted financial assistance to the Yellow Door and the Contactivity Centre, supporting them in their mission to promote the autonomy, empowerment, and well-being of Québec seniors. Similarly, the MNA supported organizations that promote the inclusion and defence of the rights of people living with a disability, including Ex Aequo and the Centre communautaire Radisson.
The allocated funds have also encouraged community life in the riding, particularly via the Greene Centre, the Table de quartier Peter-McGill, the Association récréative Milton-Parc, and the Shaughnessy Village Association, which create stimulating living environments for residents.
Westmount–Saint-Louis’ contribution to Québec’s cultural and artistic scene is undeniable. With the goal of promoting the arts, the MNA for Westmount–Saint-Louis has also supported organizations such as the Orchestre de la francophonie, the Orchestre philharmonique et choeur des mélomanes, the Orchestre métropolitain, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture.
“Westmount–Saint-Louis’ community organizations do exceptional work and provide essential assistance to members of the community. This National Volunteer Week, it is our duty to recognize and support their work. I sincerely thank each and every volunteer who, through their constant dedication and immense generosity, contributes to improving the quality of life of their fellow citizens,” says Jennifer Maccarone, MNA for Westmount–Saint-Louis.
The MNA hopes to support yet more organizations and projects for the Westmount–Saint-Louis community to further flourish and shine. The 2023-2024 fiscal year is now underway: organizations wishing to submit an application or to obtain more information about the program Soutien à l’action bénévole can contact the constituency office by calling (514) 395-2929 or by sending an email to Jennifer.Maccarone.WSL@assnat.qc.ca.
