Lots of entertainment happening before back to school

As things revert to normal post-COVID, here are a few theatre, film, and music events to consider during the second half of August.
Continuing are:
Italfest
This festival celebrating Italian music, food, movies, and culture, began on August 5 and continues at various locations until August 20.
International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
This summer favourite began on August 11 and resumes on August 17 until August 20.
Horror Stories
A tribute to the genre, which began in early August, continues at the Cinémathèque Québécoise on August 16, 17, 19, 23 and 31.

August 16 to 20
Vegas Knights
At the Hudson Village Theatre. Songs of famous crooners – Sinatra, Martin, Darin, Presley, etc. – who played Las Vegas, with a live quartet.
August 17
Noelle Hannibal – Ain’t a Tourist
Album launch of her songs by Noelle Hannibal at Casa del Popolo.
August 18 to 20
Montreal Ribfest
This annual West Island rib festival in Pierrefonds combines barbeque with lively music. Free admission. A fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters organizers.
August 26
Marie Chouinard – Rites of Spring
A free dance performance by the acclaimed dancer at the outdoor Theatre de Verdure in Parc La Fontaine.
