En Pointe, the continuing series of short bilingual plays presented by Tableau D’Hôte Theatre winds up with three more free outdoor events at various sites in Pointe St. Charles, each announced only that same day.

Portico – six short pieces will be performed outdoor on the steps in front of the Centaur Theatre, which sponsored the event. Free donations accepted.

Legendary film publicist David Novek continues with his series of film great bios, blending his insider comments with selected clips. I enjoyed several of these last year, particularly on Doris Day, Ben Hecht and Gene Kelly/Fred Astaire. Coming up online this year are:

September 23 at 7 pm

Also at the Cummings Centre is an Evening with Tommy Schnurmacher, former Montreal columnist and radio host. That event is $10 to CC members, $15 for non-members.

Membership, which has a myriad of classes, lectures and other events, has been reduced to only $25 per year for new or returning members. As this year is half over, it includes 2021 as a free automatic extension.
