Award-winning humour blogger from Moxie-Dude.com and author, Mona Andrei, will be signing copies of her book Superwoman: A Funny and Reflective Look at Single Motherhood at Indigo, 6321 Trans-Canada Hwy in Pointe-Claire on Saturday, September 28 from 11 am to 3 pm. In a move that mirrors the supportive message of her book, Andrei is turning the spotlight on community needs by collecting back-to-school supplies for local families.
Andrei’s book, born from her experiences as a young single mother, serves as a reminder to other single mothers that they are not alone. “I remember feeling isolated and overwhelmed,” Andrei shares. “I wrote this book to remind other moms that while parenting is an important job, it’s equally important to nurture our own dreams, goals, and aspirations. After all, a fulfilled mom is a better parent.”

Extending this spirit of support beyond the pages of her book, Andrei is partnering with Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds (PCP) for her book signing event. Attendees are encouraged to bring back-to-school supplies, which will be donated to PCP, an organization providing social, academic, linguistic, and emotional support to vulnerable families across Montreal’s West Island.
“The parallels between my journey as a single mother and the work PCP does are striking,” Andrei notes. “We’re both focused on empowering families and ensuring that no one feels alone in their struggles.”
Established in 1995, PCP offers programs tailored to community needs, assisting recent immigrants, promoting positive mental health, and preparing children for academic and social success. The organization’s commitment to inclusivity and equality aligns closely with Andrei’s message of empowerment and community support.
This event not only celebrates Andrei’s literary achievement but also highlights the ongoing need for community support in the West Island. It serves as a powerful reminder that individual success stories can become catalysts for broader community action.
