Montrealers come together on Thursday, February 13 to celebrate and protect their mountain!

Les amis de la montagne is pleased to announce the upcoming 23rd edition of the Tuques Bleues event on Thursday, February 13, 2020, benefitting environmental conservation programs on Mount Royal. Sports enthusiasts, outdoor amateurs and nature lovers will gather at 5:30 p.m. in Mount Royal Park for a magical evening of snowshoeing and celebrations under the stars.

An unforgettable evening at the summit

Inspired by the time-honoured sport of snowshoeing, the Tuques Bleues fundraiser pays tribute to the mountain’s winter traditions and remarkable nature.

Participants ready for a challenge can take part in the Race to the Top, a timed 3.5 km snowshoe race through the woodlands to the finish line at the Kondiaronk Belvedere.

For those preferring to enjoy the beauty of the moonlit forest at a more leisurely pace, the Illuminated Walk features a lantern-lit 2.2 km snowshoe circuit with historical highlights.

From start to finish, Mount Royal turns into a magical Tuques Bleues Village for the evening! Music, hot beverages, tasty treats and other surprises will be available at exterior sites to the delight of all runners and walkers. Festivities will then continue at the After Party in the Mount Royal Chalet with DJ, bar, buffet and much more.

This winter tradition will take place under the honorary presidency of Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.

In order to welcome a greater number of participants to the event, a second ticket price is available, giving only access to the snowshoe race or walk and outdoor celebrations at the Kondiaronk Belvedere. Peer-to-peer fundraising allows those who wish to enhance their experience and gain access to the party in the Chalet by mobilizing friends, family and colleagues.

A unique outdoor event in support of environmental protection

The evening’s objective is to raise funds for Les amis de la montagne environmental conservation programs on Mount Royal. Proceeds will also go to its Conservation Patrol and Environmental Stewardship Program aimed at protecting and improving the biodiversity of Mount Royal through citizen involvement.

Les amis de la montagne would like to emphasize the engagement and ongoing contributions of the following key partners of the event: Atlas Snowshoes, Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, Groupe Copley, Samcon, Tubbs Snowshoes, 2nd Field Artillery Regiment (Canada), Boréale, Cardio Plein Air, Java U Catering, Juliette & Chocolat, Musion Canada, Table 51, Bell Media and its affiliated radio stations Rouge 107.3 FM, CJAD 800 AM and CTV, and the City of Montreal.
