Mona Andrei awarded
Humour Blogger of the Year
Westmount Magazine contributor recognized for her Moxie-Dude.com blog by Corporate Vision
December 22, 2022
Once again, Westmount Magazine contributor Mona Andrei is being recognized for her wit and humour writing. This time she’s being awarded Humour Blogger of the Year by Corporate Vision.
This is her third time being recognized as a blogger. Healthy Moms Magazine included her blog, Moxie-Dude.com, in their top 100 humour blogs list in 2016. And in 2021, AI Global Media awarded her Best Personal Blog for Humor & Insight.
Mona’s ability to mix humour with insight is truly admirable.

“I don’t know how I get on their radars,” says Mona. “But I always need a paper bag when I get the news.”
Topics on her blog include almost everything from thoughts on writing to parenting to her many failed cooking attempts. According to her, it’s because her kitchen hates her. But she’s okay with that. She’d rather be writing anyway.
No stranger to writing, Mona has been a freelance writer and copywriter since the 1990s. She has ghostwritten several books for industry leaders and influencers. And in 2021, she released her first book, SUPERWOMAN: A Funny and Reflective Look at Single Motherhood (Cynren Press).
“Mona’s ability to mix humour with insight is truly admirable,” states Holly Monteith of Cynren Press.
Most recently, Mona has launched a podcast called Single Moms with Moxie.

“I was 24 years old when I became a single mother with a toddler and baby and no support from their father. That’s when struggling became a norm for me. I went into survival mode and completely forgot who I was,” states Mona. “My goal with the book was to remind other single mothers that they are not alone and hopefully help them find a little humour in their circumstances. And now, with the podcast, my goal is to elevate single moms and remind them that there’s more to life than diapers and laundry.”
To Mona, the saddest thing in the world is forgotten potential. And while her potential may have been dormant during her early years as a single mom, there’s nothing stopping her now. She’s a woman on a mission.
